I’m quite a newbie for blogging and I installed WordPress 1.5 some three months ago and I’m still learning.

2 weeks ago, I upgraded to WordPress 2.0. I messed up a little bit but finally, after a day of hard work, my setup was running quite smoothly again.

I came to notice that I wasn’t able to trackback another blog though… humhum… A quick search on google told me that WordPress 2.0 was guilty. It’s strange to release a version with such a problem, trackbacks are a big functionnality no? Anyway…

Today, I found the following link pointing to RedAlt. This allows some testing on the trackbacks and pings. Cool!

And after a little more research, I found the WordPress Code Management site along with their bug database. Hehe! Thank to hypertext, I found the bug and the fix.

I downloaded the file using the link ‘original format’ at the bottom of the page. Renamed the corresponding file on my WordPress site and uploaded the new execute-pings.php file.

Trackbacks are working now for me on my WordPress 2.0 blog.
